Southwell and District Local History Society is planning to commemorate the outbreak of the First World War by publishing a book to honour all local people who fought in the conflict.

In addition to those on active service the Society also wishes to examine life in Southwell and District during the war in 1914-1918. To help tell the story and to make it a community project, the society is appealing to the local community to uncover letters, photographs, family memories and memorabilia from the war.
