Russian memories of war

In an interview with NewsBalt, the Russian Association of World War I Heroes has highlighted how collective memory may influence how the Centenary of the First World War is marked in Russia.

A member of the Association, Konstantin Pakhalyuk, told the news organisation that Russia’s Soviet history, lack of collective cultural identity and economic turbulence would all be important factors in how the nation will remember the First World War.
