First World War memorial in Tiruchirappalli, India, to be restored

The Hindu reports that five shops blocking access to the war memorial in Gandhi Market, Tiruchirappalli, India, have been closed and the memorial is set to be restored.

Plans are now being discussed to restore the memorial as a tourist attraction and place of homage.
