Part of the IWM Centenary Partnership, the British Association For Local History aims to promote the academic study of local British history.

The BALH is a national charity serving local historians and encouraging the study of local history.  It publishes a quarterly journal, 'The Local Historian', as well as the magazine 'Local History News'. The Association regularly organises workshops, conferences and lectures on local history.
