The Scottish Screen Archive’s film collection is home to many unusual films that depict the lives of civilians and soldiers during the 1914-18 period. Visitors to the site can look through the selection of short and full-length videos and stream them instantly. The 1914-18 period is highlighted in films including the Galashiels Historical Peace Pageant and Scottish Troops at the Front.

The archive is home to some 32,000 items, and features documentaries, newsreels, educational material, television and public information films, industrial material and advertising and promotional material. It also preserves and adapts television broadcasts made in Gaelic, photographs, recordings of oral history and many other items.
