The role Gallipoli plays in modern Australia-Turkey relations

In a video produced by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on You Tube, the Australian Ambassador to Turkey, Mr Ian Biggs, speaks of the importance Gallipoli maintains in modern relations between the two countries.

Mr Biggs highlighted the enduring nature of the Gallipoli campaign in 1915, which Australia and Turkey (as the Ottoman Empire), partook in, on opposing sides.

Mr Biggs spoke of initiatives between the two countries focused around the Centenary of the Gallipoli campaign in 2015.
